Direct Financial Assistance
Here are some tips to help you find financial support.
- Non-profit organizations focused on the type of cancer you or your loved one is dealing with may provide financial assistance and/or offer resources for financial assistance.
- Community voluntary agencies and service organizations such as the United Way of America, Salvation Army, Lutheran Social Services, Jewish Social Services, and Catholic Charities may provide financial help for practical needs.
- Federal programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and the State Children's Health Insurance Program offer financial assistance to people with cancer. NCI's fact sheet Financial Assistance for Cancer Care provides more information.

CancerCare 1-800-813-HOPE Provides financial assistance for some cancer treatments, related expenses, grants for home care, childcare, and transportation, as well as free counseling.
- CancerCare Co-Payment Assistance Foundation
1-866-55COPAY Provides co-payment assistance for patients who have been prescribed chemotherapy but are unable to afford the out-of-pocket costs or co-payments required by their insurer or Medicaid.
- AVONCares Program for Medically Underserved Women
Operated by CancerCare, provides assistance to low-income, under- and uninsured, underserved women who need supportive services related to the treatment of breast and gynecological cancers.

HealthWell Foundation 1-800-675-8416 Helps patients who cannot afford their insurance co-payments, premiums, co-insurance, or other out-of-pocket health care costs.
Hill-Burton Program 1-800-638-0742 (Maryland residents call 1-800-492-0359) Offers a federal program that requires certain hospitals to provide services to those who cannot afford them.
Hope Cancer Fund provides financial assistance and other forms of support to people with cancer.
Leukemia and Lymphoma Society 1-800-955-4572 1-877-557-2672 (Copay Assistance Program) Provides information and financial aid to patients with leukemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma, or multiple myeloma.
LIVESTRONG SurvivorCare 1-866-235-7205 Offers financial assistance to cancer survivors who are 6 months post-treatment with no evidence of disease for transportation to follow-up appointments, medical co-pays, cancer-related medications, and neuropsychological evaluation.
